The Peninsula Show is annual event that Peninsula people make a real effort to attend. It has everything from tough guys sweating it out on a course, talented kids performing, and of course cars, boats and a helicopter. This years show was held on a beautiful warm day with a good crowd enjoying the food stalls and entertainment. The committee did a great job of the organisation and this show will continue to get bigger and better. (Click on the pictures to see in full size view).

Otago Peninsula A&P Show

The Otago Peninsula A&P Show on the 7th December is an absolute must for all of the community and visitors to the area. With a great range of events, displays and competitions there is enough going on at the show to keep you and the kids amused for the whole day.

It’s also a great chance to enter into some great events and maybe win a few locally sponsored prizes. So grab your gum-boots and your sun-hat and enjoy one of the Otago Peninsula’s great days out.

8:00 Horse events start
11:30 Fancy Dress Competition (judged in age groups)
11:45 Best Pet Competition (judged in age groups)
12:00 Egg & Spoon Race
12:00 Cut off time for baking entries (at the Treats & Sweets Stall)
12:30 Gumboot Throwing
1:00 Tough Guy Challenge (Teams of 3)
– Charity Auction (proceeds to Portobello School)
– Cut off for vegetable sculpture entries (Treats & Sweets Stall)
2:30 Baking Competition Results
2:45 Vegetable & Vegetable Sculpture Competition Results
