Peninsula Connection

The Peninsula Connection project will widen Portobello and Harington Point roads to make them safer and more attractive for everyone who uses the road – locals, visitors, cyclists, walkers and runners, drivers and nearby residents and businesses.

While the project is nearing completion, a few key segments remain, including the rerouting of the shared pathway along the Portobello waterfront and the eventual construction of a roundabout at the village’s main intersection (where Portobello,Highcliff, Harington Point and Hatchery Roads come together). A preliminary layout for this work is shown above.

For the latest updates, the Dunedin City Council maintains a page with the plans and the latest progress reports for the Peninsula Connection.
